Dreamcatchers

Dreamcatchers were originally made by native American women for their grandchildren. It's said that if a dreamcatcher is hung over the bed, bad dreams are caught in the web and dissolve in the morning light. Good dreams are allowed through to slip down into the feathers so they can be dreamed again.

The outer circle represents the circle of life, and the thread which spirals inwards to the centre represents the path of life. The thread always leads back to the outer circle again showing that the end is also the beginning.

If you are giving a dreamcatcher to someone else, especially a child, tie something on it that's from you, a bead or button or ribbon, or anything that you want, and fill it full of love as you do it. Your love will then also be allowed through to be held in the feathers.
